Live scores and season logs for school sport

Someone at the field keeps the score. Everyone else follows it live.

MatchLog is a live scoreboard for the parents who cannot get to the field, and a permanent record of every fixture for the school. Nobody types a table into a spreadsheet on a Sunday night.

At a glance

Six things that make a Saturday easier.

Score from any phone.

Large, thumb-friendly buttons for tries, kicks and cards make scoring effortless, even in cold or challenging conditions. Simply open the link and start scoring, with no installation or setup required.

Reliable, even when coverage isn’t.

Open the link once, where there is signal. After that, every tap is stored on the device first, keeping the scoreboard responsive and protecting every update if the connection drops. When the signal returns, everything stays in sync.

No account. No setup. Just score.

Anyone can score a match from their phone with a link for that one fixture. It opens as often as they need and stops working twelve hours after kick-off.

One link. Every parent connected.

Post it to the team group and every parent gets the same live match experience, wherever they are. No login, no setup, just the score as it happens.

The log takes care of itself.

Standings, league points and bonus points update as each match ends. Once the pools are complete, a sevens puts its knockout games on the board by itself.

One platform for every team.

From junior festival pools to senior fixtures, MatchLog applies the appropriate rules for each age group and maintains a clean, season-by-season record that grows with the school.

The live score is the headline. The permanent record is the value.

What your school gets

The season keeps its own record.

01

A log nobody has to keep

Standings, league points and bonus points update when the final whistle blows, and a sevens puts its knockout rounds on the board once the pools are done. By Sunday night, the competition table is already done, with no spreadsheets and no manual data entry.

02

A Saturday that does not need you

Before kick-off, send a scoring link to anyone at the match: a coach, a parent or an older pupil. They open it on their phone and record the score as it happens. No accounts, no passwords and no app downloads means scoring is no longer dependent on a single member of staff.

03

Something to give the parents

Share a single link in the team group and everyone stays connected to the game. Whether they’re travelling, at work or hundreds of kilometres away, parents and grandparents see live updates as they happen.

04

A system designed for accountability.

Nobody can browse student profiles or team lists. Line-ups become available only when a fixture kicks off, and player names appear only as part of that fixture’s official record.

On the phone

One link. Two different jobs.

Parents open the match and follow the score as it changes. The person running the competition opens the same platform and finds the standings, points and pool tables already up to date. Nothing to install. Nothing to sign in to.

The table is not something anyone maintains. It is simply what the results add up to, recalculated automatically every time a match ends.

Both screens are the real interface, filled with example results. The standings are the ones those three results produce, and no child is named anywhere on this page.

What it does

Three jobs, and it does all three itself.

Someone scores it.

Big, thumb-friendly buttons make it easy to record tries, kicks and cards as they happen. Match timing, halves and the final whistle are all handled from the same screen. Player names can be added immediately or after the match.

Everybody stays part of the game.

One link in the team WhatsApp group lets parents follow every score as it happens, wherever they are. Nothing to install and nothing to sign in to.

The log updates automatically.

Standings, points and bonus points are calculated from the match results. Nobody spends Sunday night typing tables into a spreadsheet.

The first thing we get asked

Nobody needs an account to score a game.

You send a link for a single match. It opens on any phone, as often as needed, with no sign-up and no password, and it can score that match and nothing else on the platform. Twelve hours after kick-off, it expires automatically.

The person on the touchline does not have to be you, and it does not have to be the same person next week.

Fifteens and Sevens

A season of match days, or a whole tournament in a morning.

The log looks after itself.

Run a league across an entire season or a pool-based tournament. Standings, points difference, try bonuses and losing bonuses are calculated automatically as results are entered, using the competition’s scoring system: 4, 2 and 0 for fifteens, and 3, 2 and 1 for sevens.

The knockouts name themselves.

Quarter-finals, semi-finals, a final and a third-place playoff appear as placeholders from day one, so everyone can see what lies ahead. As soon as the pool stages are complete, they show the qualifying teams, ranked according to the competition’s tie-break rules, and in a sevens the games go on the board by themselves.

It knows the format you are running.

Tell it whether you are running a league, a single pool progressing to semi-finals, two pools progressing to quarter-finals, or a sevens tournament. It works out what that means: who qualifies, how the knockout rounds are structured and how the table is scored. Sevens goes even further, creating the entire day’s schedule automatically, and visiting clubs never need an account to take part.

At the field

It keeps working when the signal does not.

Half the sporting fields have weak signal. Open the link where there is signal and every tap is saved on the phone first, so the scoring screen keeps working even when the connection drops. Once the screen says it is ready offline, it reopens on that phone even with no signal.

When the signal comes back, everything syncs automatically, and duplicate taps are counted only once.

What is coming

Rugby today. The same machinery runs the rest.

Fixtures, capture, results, follow, record. That chain does not change when the sport does, so each new code is a scoring model on rails that already exist rather than a new product. Rugby is what is running now, and netball, hockey and football are next because a running score and a handful of events is the same job.

Nothing about MatchLog is tied to a single sport. When rugby ends and netball begins, schools keep using the same system, and the history they have built stays intact.

What it costs

A conversation, not a checkout.

Schools do not all run sport the same way, so MatchLog is not priced as though they do.

Whether you’re running a single age group, an entire sports programme or a once-off festival, we’ll tailor the pricing to the way your season actually works.

Tell us about your fixtures, your teams and your season, and we’ll tell you what it costs.

Ways schools start

  • The whole schoolEvery side, every Saturday

The school pays for MatchLog. No parent is charged to follow their child’s matches, and there is no charge per pupil.

Every match matters. This is the one that remembers them.
